![]() ![]() My pushrod would not even adjust down that far. Never mind the writing in Jinglish just wrong info here. I was in the same boat as 71240L28 because I am not used to FSMs being wrong in their specs. ![]() I am thankful for the search function on this site that is what alerted me to the FSM error in the first place. Good Luck and post back with your results. I can't remember whether it is new or rebuilt. I plan to re-adjust it to stick out farther, thereby initiating the braking sooner.īTW this is with the correct 8 (or so) inch booster and a Tokico MC from the local chain parts store (Advance Auto). I may have some air in the lines, but I am leaning toward the pushrod being adjusted too short. My brakes right now have very little resistance until the pedal is about half way down, then I get A LOT of braking with very minimal effort or pedal travel. There was a small amount of play between the pushrod and the cup, so that seemed right to me. I looked in my FSM and saw the 3.5 to 4 mm dimension so I adjusted the pushrod to that dimension. In addition, it contacted the "cup" in the master cylinder before the MC was fully seated on the booster. When I assembled them, the pushrod was sticking out about 9 to 10 mm. I just got my 73 on the road this past weekend after replacing the booster and master cylinder. ![]()
